The fact is I do believe over the history of time, all things have been leading us towards our self discovery as being at peace/love/one with the infinite spirit everyone's tao is different. Including the message of Mayan Prophets and Kings as well as the Christian Son of God, Jesus. If you are interested in what I refer to as Christ Consciousness you should pick up 2012 The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck and/or The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life Volume 1 by Drunvalo Melchizedek. -

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 2:09 PMIt's not that he's coming back, it's that there is going to be an atrological phenomenon that is going to create a leap in consciousness that if you're not prepared for you won't make the leap, and then cease to exist or die or something of that sort. Sort of like the Christian Rapture.

Thu, May 29, 2008 - 12:11 PMI'm in a boat floating the same direction Carl is. Handy quote you posted there. I've always been doubting Thomas when it comes to religious predictions of "revelation". The Christians have been sure that Jesus would imminently return since the dawn of the religion itself. I was raised on those beliefs and had a hard time considering it more than just a scary bedtime story since I was a child. To each his own of course. As long as you're not banging on my door with a bible in your hand first thing on Saturday morning. -

Thu, May 29, 2008 - 12:35 PMBut they need to convince you that they're right because if you agree with them, then it re-inforces their (probably false) beliefs. One of the big problems with organized religion is the inherent need to fortify the sketchy beliefs.
Any answer is better than no answer at all, so, "God did it," is a much safer, more satisfying answer than, "I don't know." And of course, "Don't, God (Jesus, Quetzecotl, or "Bob") is coming down from heaven to save you," or, "Just give your life to Jesus and all your problems will go away," is much safer and more satisfying than, "You got yourself into this mess, now get yourself out of it!"
